Recommendations for Email / Internet Service Provider
One of the methods for sending EDI invoices
to Data Tranz is Email with an attached file. We also
forward EDI Reports and Invoices to your Email account,
so it is important you choose a mail service which is
not consumer driven, and will handle your attachments
without reformatting them.
DSL, ADSL, Broadband, etc.
We highly recommend installing a broadband connection
for business purposes. First of all, it makes sending
and receiving EDI much less of a chore, you can also
download updates quickly, and you can check your prices
quickly. It is also a requirement for using Glaxis with
Data Tranz.
LocalNet
Provides clean, fast connections, and no proprietary
software which will interfere with your EDI transactions.
Use Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora to send and
receive Email.
MSN
We do not recommend MSN for sending EDI. MSN reformats
EDI files into inline files, making the email worthless
for our purposes. There are workarounds, but we do not
support MSN. If you have MSN, we recommend using the
ftp method of sending EDI. We do not recommend MSN for
sending EDI.
Yahoo!
Yahoo is similar to MSN, but you can't send "single
click" out of GlassShop. Instead, you need to attach
the file to your message.
AOL
Similar to MSN, AOL formats the outgoing message to
appear in the body of the message. With the resulting
loss of message integrity, the message is worthless
by the time we receive it. Not suitable for our purposes.
Incredimail
Same as MSN and AOL. Not suitable for our purposes.
Outlook,
Outlook
Express, and Eudora
All of these operate on the system desktop. They are
all MAPI enabled, meaning we can send an email directly
through them. All it takes is one click and we've received
your EDI. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
