One of the aspects of working with glass and other materials is
that it is purchased in large, single units, then sold on a per
unit basis.
For example, you may purchase a sheet of mirror from your supplier
that has the inch dimensions of 48" x 60", and your cost from your
vendor is based on that unit sheet size, not on a per square foot
size. You may also have a variety of different sizes of the same
stock, but you may purchase in several different sizes from the
same and other vendors.
GlassShop addresses this issue by allowing you to create multiple
vendor items for a single base item. On this vendor item card,
you will maintain your sheet cost, and you will enter the quantity
of the base that this vendor item has (in this example, 20). Therefore,
when you sell or purchase or allocate an item, it is done in its
base unit (usually foot), but the cost will come in on your per
sheet cost and your sheet size.
